I am sorry to inform you that, due to changes in www.comics.com policies, all comics accessed from that website are not available anymore.

A new version of the widget will be avalable soon, with a reduced list of working strips: in short, we’ve lost Dilbert, but we still have   Calvin & Hobbes and all comics from GoComics website.

Version 1.2 - Fixed problems with Calvin & Hobbes and other strips from GoComics website.

More than 100 strips immediately available in your Dashboard, including all the most famous characters, like Dilbert, Peanuts, Doonesbury, Garfield. freeComics will start from the last viewed comic, and will try to load the current strip, based on today's date: you can navigate thru dates using the arrows, within the maximum of 30 days of free availability. You can also go directly to selected comic official website.

Download and Install

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If you’re using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you’re using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

You could do exactly the same manually, by viewing the source code in your browser, finding the link, using the url to get the image and saving it locally.
